It is not surprising that Charles Krypell was a sculptor before he became a world-renowned jewelry designer. The native New Yorker's balanced jewelry offers a seamless blend of both crafts. Krypell first realized his calling as a jeweler three decades ago while attending the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. As a sculptor, Krypell always enjoyed working in three-dimensional media, including stone. But, once he discovered jewelry, Krypell realized that the smaller scale of the work would allow him to design timeless pieces immediately. Today, Krypell's Sterling Collection features colored gems, pearls, and white, yellow, brown and black diamonds set in sterling silver with 14 Karat and 18 Karat yellow gold accents.
